Alcoholic Beverages

Alcoholic beverages are allowed for events on the West Course only. Rules for the University's Conference Center License will apply. Contact Mark Trombly to get this information at (517)432-3060


Food and Beverage Policies

Thank you for choosing Forest Akers Golf Course for your outing. Please read the following policies carefully:

  • The rental fee is $500 weekdays and $750 on weekends and holidays. This fee will be applied to your final bill. If food purchases exceed the rental fee the fee will be waived. Purchases at the snack bar, service charges, & sales tax cannot be applied toward the rental fee. Call Mark Trombly at (517)432-3060 or email at tromblym@msu.edu to reserve the facility. Forest Akers reserves the right to relocate any function to an alternate room within the complex.
  • All food and beverages must be purchased from Forest Akers. Leftover food may not be taken from the golf course. 
  • Final menu selection is due two weeks in advance of the event. The final guarantee is required by 5:00 p.m. two business days in advance of the event. This will be the number of guests for which you will be billed. If a guarantee is not received by the agreed upon date, Forest Akers will consider your last estimated number of attendees as the guarantee. 
  • Forest Akers will be prepared to serve a slightly higher number than the guarantee. If the guarantee is exceeded you will be billed for the extra meals served. 
  • The golf course does not assume the responsibility of any personal property, or of any equipment, left behind by entertainers or guests. 
  • Applicable sales tax will be added to all purchases. 
  • Payment is due upon receipt. A 5% late fee will be added for every 30 days after that. 
  • Wall decorations and signs may be posted with prior permission from Forest Akers. Fireworks, confetti, and glitter are not permitted. The customer and their guests are responsible and shall reimburse Forest Akers for any damage to any part of the facility. 
  • Forest Akers is smoke free facility. 
  • All Michigan laws regarding the sale of alcohol will be strictly enforced. Guests may be asked to provide proper identification. Forest Akers reserves the right to refuse any sale or service of alcohol to any guest who may be in violation of Michigan state law. All alcohol will be served by an Forest Akers employee. Bar service will stopped at 12:30a.m. with room vacated by 1:00a.m.
